Body For Life: Welcome to Bill Phillips LIVE online seminar! Tonight's topics will include: how to lose fat, increase muscle, gain energy, build YOUR best Body-for-LIFE, and make the year 2000 your most rewarding year ever! The 60-minute seminar is about to begin. Please send your questions now, then sit back, and get ready to experience an uplifting, informative, and inspiring live online event, brought to you by Body For Life.com Bill Phillips: Hello friends, it's Bill Phillips here, and it is an honor and a pleasure to welcome you to tonight's LIVE Q&A seminar! I really appreciate the fact that you have decided to join us tonight-- I know there are many people who would never consider allowing Friday night to be a "learning" experience. I respect you for that! Did you realize that tonight you are online with 20,456 other people from around the world who are sharing this exact same experience at this exact same moment? It's true! We are a community tonight that is connected by our interests and our passion for self-empowerment, and physical and mental self-improvement. Tonight, we are joined by high-achievers from all seven continents and 29 nations. Our friends in Australia, including Cindy; our friends in Germany, including William; our friends in Asia, including Kal.We are all united tonight! Do you realize that if we were all together in one place, we would be standing-room-only in Madison Square Garden (which seats 19,763 people)! Make no mistake, as I watch the sunset over the Colorado Rocky Mountains tonight--as I enjoy the flurries of snow and the crisp late-winter breeze, I am overwhelmed with this global burst of positive energy which has come together as a result of the Internet. Speaking of the Internet, we are now able to transport information at the speed of light, which is what we are doing at this exact moment. That's good, and it's also potentially bad. Please, please, please, remember that not all information is knowledge! However, all knowledge is information! Tonight, we take the first big step for Body-for-LIFERS to fight a plague which I call the misinformation age. Tonight, we begin a first in a series of regular clear-cut Q&A, online events which will be dedicated to answering your questions about how to build your best Body-for-LIFE. Once again, I'm honored that you've allowed me and the Body-for-LIFE team the opportunity to be of service to you this beautiful Friday evening. Let's get to the questions. Bfl: I can do everything required of the twelve-week program but stay motivated/inspired. What can I do? Bill Phillips: First of all, one of the things that we need to do with the Body-for-LIFE Program is pay attention to the messages which our words send. One of the words which I don't want to send is "motivation." I believe that "motivation" is a temporary state of "arousal" which is often superficial. It's only skin deep. I don't want to talk about motivation. However, I LOVE to talk about INSPIRATION! Inspiration is a powerful, true, peaceful force, which comes from deep inside! Inspiration will keep you going for 12 weeks and beyond! So how do you become inspired? Well, I can't provide you with inspiration. However, I know 77,311 people who can! These people--these real-life success stories--these stories of transformed bodies and transformed lives are my inspiration and I believe they can be your inspiration too! I suggest that if you're looking for something to give you the "drive" to move forward in a positive way--to conquer 12 weeks on the Body-for-LIFE Program--you look to these real-life heroes for positive energy, not me. Ramper: Hi Bill! Montel's show was great today--pumped me up even more. My husband & I are 3 weeks in and our lives are unrecognizable already! We can't believe we are eating this well. Do you really have to take a minute between sets on weights? Sometimes I feel ready to go after 30 seconds. Bill Phillips: Congratulations for completing the first 21 days of the rest of your life! Did you realize that 21 days is the "make-it or break-it" point? I hope so, because you've made it! Your chances of completing all 12 weeks are extremely good, and I believe, 100%, that you will become our next real-life success story! As far as wanting to decrease the time between your sets, I would advise against it. First, the scientific rationale--the muscles do not recover enough in 30 seconds to exert a full contraction during the next set if they are not allowed to rest at least 60 seconds. So, even though you might be mentally ready to lift again in 30 seconds, physically, you are not! Remember, the Body-for-LIFE workout is meant to stimulate an adaptation by invoking muscular tissue damage. If that damage does not occur (which it might not if you don't rest long enough), then no adaptation will be triggered. Also remember, the Body-for-LIFE Program is an "exercise" in FAITH--you need to BELIEVE it will work for you, as it has for over 70,000 others. We need to stop doubting and start believing. Believe it or not, that starts with following the principles of the Body-for-LIFE Program, TO THE LETTER!
