Sallyann: Did you ever imagine that not only would you lose weight and get a great body, but also be Body For Life 2000 Couples Grand Champions?

Tory Nissle: LOL, no!

Tod Nissle: Not in a million years! All we knew was that we were terribly unhappy with all the efforts we were making into working out, and when we took those horrible 'before' photos, it thrust us into wanting to make a change. It was Tory's perseverance that finally enabled me to change and apply the program. We knew we had the dedication and discipline to finish the program.

Tory Nissle: But to be champions?

Tod Nissle: No, not in a million years.

Tory Nissle: For us it was a dream. We knew so many people would be entering, and we were so excited.we are still in shock.

Tod Nissle: I'd like to make a point here. We really believe that everyone who decides to make a life change -- who applies and finishes the program -- is a champion in their own right.

Tory Nissle: Absolutely!

Tod Nissle: We are no different than anyone else. We are two ordinary Joes who happen to be fortunate enough or blessed enough to have entered into the opportunity to be awarded Grand Championship, but the true award is finishing the program, and I certainly don't want to minimize the challenge. It has all been wonderful. The inner strength you gain from going through the process -- that's incredible.

Kal: What supplements were used during this program?

Tory Nissle: I started off with the Myoplex Light, Betagen and Phen-Free, and then over a course of a year I adjusted the supplements and tried other things. (EAS is always coming out with new things and I always want to try them.)

Tod Nissle: I used Myoplex Deluxe, Cytovol, Phosphagain, Neurogain, and we have since added some new supplements that have come out -- Methoxy Factor, and we both take HMB. We suggest to the people who are listening in that they need to apply HMB and Methoxy Factor because those are two incredible supplements.

Skooter: Can you give us an example of a typical menu for one day?

Tod Nissle: Sure, Skooter!

Tory Nissle: We'd come home from the gym in the morning, and Tod and I would both have egg whites, oatmeal, or whole wheat toast. Then, my second meal was usually a Myoplex Light shake. Lunch could be tuna fish on whole wheat toast, with a green vegetable as well. Then again I'd have another shake. Dinner might be a grilled chicken breast with brown rice and a vegetable, and the last meal was usually a shake again or some kind of protein. A lot of times I reduced the amount of carbs I took at night because carbs have a tendency to stick with me. Tod did pretty much the same thing.

Tod Nissle: We ate pretty parallel to each other -- it was easier that way, and a lot of support came about that way. We were 50-50, and that's how we get through life.

Shantel: How much have your energy levels increased since inception? And can you give us an example of something you struggled to deal with before the program that you can breeze through now?

Tory Nissle: Oh, energy.gosh, we got a LOT of energy from doing the program. We used to be couch potatoes. We'd come home from work, sit on the couch, and just watch TV all night.

Tod Nissle: There are things we have done that we never thought we could do. I decided to go for a run the other day, and after six miles, I was like, "Gosh, when will I start getting tired?" It's hard to get a numerical value in how much more energy we have, but just getting through each day and going through it with so much enthusiasm.

Tory Nissle: You don't want to do just one thing, it's just go, go, go, and do as much as you can of anything.
