BodyForLIFE: Welcome to Body-for-LIFE.com's Chats with Champions. Tonight's guests are Body-for-LIFE Champions Gary and Amy Arbuckle from Denver. These parents combined to lose 48 lbs. of fat, and gained 20 lbs. of muscle, and discovered a newfound devotion to helping others find the health and happiness. Gary and Amy, thank you both for joining and spending time with us tonight.

Gary: Thank you! It is a distinct privilege to be here with you. Let's get it on!

Amy: Hey everybody! We're excited to talk to you! Let's get started!

Serenity: Do you think competing in the challenge was easier because you were doing it together?

Amy: Definitely! I couldn't have done it by myself. I owe a lot to my partner.

Gary: I like to use the analogy of walking on a railroad track. To walk on one rail by yourself is tough. But to have a partner on the other rail, and hold hands, it's easy to stay on course.

Amy: Definitely hook up with a workout partner. Find a partner who can support you, who you can work with throughout the twelve-week program.

LaylainAlaska: For Amy - I'm in the same situation as you were starting, the same weight even. What did you do to stay focused?

Amy: First of all, the pictures, the before picture, helped me to focus right from the start. It gave me a great measuring tool, and a reminder of what my goal was, which was to change my body composition. I also created a list of written goals that I referred to often.

Courage: How much did Amy weigh once she began job searching? And once involved in her career, did this help to propel her further in completing her goals?

Amy: My weight went from 160 to 130 during the program. I began my job search before the twelve-week challenge but I did not get my job until near the end of the challenge. I definitely think that changing my appearance had an effect on my confidence and the way that others perceived me. Good question!

Jules: Amy & Gary--you two are such a neat couple--my husband and I are wondering what your toughest obstacles were and how you overcame them?

Amy: I think probably the toughest obstacle for us was that we're parents, we're both working parents, and it's always a struggle to find time. But, once you decide to start the challenge, no matter what your obstacles are--time, money, or temptations--if you're focused, nothing can stop you.
