Heartthrob Scott Vickayous
UPN's "Breaker High"

March 30, 1998

Scott Vickaryous is breaking hearts and making waves as one of the stars of the popular UPN series Breaker High. Breaker High is the most unique educational experience on land or sea -- a cruise ship with 500 teens on board, learning about math, science, geography... and partying. Scott plays Max Ballard, the ship captain’s rebellious and hot-headed son. While Max has often been described as a young man with a great big chip on his shoulder, Scott says of his character: "Max has a sensitive and caring nature deep down inside, if only he could trust someone enough to let it show." An accomplished athlete, Scott is a national and international champion in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. He has been an avid hockey player since the age of four and played football for the better part of his youth. For two years, he was a wide receiver for the Edmonton Wildcats. Scott also enjoys camping and hiking in his spare time. Born September 13, 1975 in British Columbia, and then moving to Sherwood Park, Alberta, Scott admires the work of such actors as Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer and counts fellow Canadian Michael J. Fox’s sitcom Spin City among his favorite television shows.

CCCMyst: Talk City Presents, in association with BoxTop Live (tm), welcomes you to tonight's feature presentation. Tonight we welcome Scott Vickaryous. And now without further ado, please welcome Scott Vickaryous. Welcome, Scott!

Minerva: I think the show is TOO HOT! I love it! Any chance UPN or someone else will have you all do a movie too?

Scott Vickayous: I haven't really heard anything about that. I guess there may always be the chance, but nobody's talked about it yet.

Smoke: What is a typical day in your life?

Scott Vickayous: Maybe I'll get luck in the future and be able to do a movie for them! A work day, right now, means doing a lot of auditions, and working on things for my acting class. Since I'm not actually working on Breaker High anymore, I'm doing a lot of auditioning.

Sar: How did you get into acting?

Scott Vickayous: I started acting on the recommendation of a friend who then also helped meet an agent in Vancouver, and helped with my move and everything. I had one line on the Greg Louganis Story - Breaking the Surface (a movie for Showtime, I believe).

Minorthreat: How has acting affected your life?

Scott Vickayous: It's helped me to meet a lot of people that I probably never would have met, and it's just allowed me to learn more about myself - that's really how it's changed my life.

Sienna: Is there a Breaker High official web page?

Scott Vickayous: I believe there is - I don't have the URL handy though. Maybe we can find that for you before we're done.

Oscarnighters: Do you only work or do you also go to school? Or have you finished school?

Scott Vickayous: I've finished school now, so at the moment I'm just working.

Carrie: What sports do you enjoy playing, or watching?

Scott Vickayous: Love playing football, hockey, and I like watching them as well! In hockey, I'm a fan of the Edmonton Oilers, but I just enjoy following the game in football.

Sexychic83: Do you like the cast, and doing the show?

Scott Vickayous: Yeah, the cast is great! We all get along well - the guys are like my brothers, and the girls are like my sisters; it's like a big family, and it's such a fun show to do!

Orchid: I watch the show every week. I just love it. Please tell your cast mates too! Thanks.

Scott Vickayous: Thanks so much for watching the show! I'm glad you enjoy it!

Clueless2: It must be great to go from algebra to an hour of tanning by the pool. Don't you wish real school was this way?

Scott Vickayous: Yeah! It would be great! There is actually a school that's based on a boat, called Semester At Sea, so I guess some people get to do it!
