CheckOut: Welcome to a chat with Kristy Swanson, star of the new CBS comedy "Grapevine.” The show takes an intimate look at the lives and loves of four friends in Miami. Shot entirely on location in Miami Beach, Florida. Kristy stars as Susan Crawford, a cruise line executive. Welcome to CheckOut.com and Talk City.

Kristy Swanson: I would just like to say that I'm happy to be here to answer all of your questions. I hope all of you watch the show tonight andenjoy it, and the next week as well.

CO-bobbi: Do you bring personal experiences into your characters?

Kristy Swanson: Sometimes I will bring personal experiences into the character that I am playing; not always. Sometimes it depends on the actual character.

Fanny: What was your first professional role?

Kristy Swanson: It was a commercial when I was 9 years old for Tomy Toys. It was a commercial for a dollhouse. It was my very first job.

Ganner5: What has been your favorite role since acting and why?

Kristy Swanson: I couldn't say that I have a most favorite role that I've ever played. I have actually enjoyed playing all of the roles that I have played. But at the present time, I am really enjoying playing Susan on "Grapevine.”

CO-paul: Kristy, have you ever done theater? What would be your dream role in a play?

Kristy Swanson: I did some theater when I was very young. I couldn't really answer that question because I don't have a lot of experience in the theater world.

ChesterB: What is the best part of working on "Grapevine"?

Kristy Swanson: I would have to say there are a lot of great things about working on "Grapevine". The people I work with--the actors that I work with--the creator, the director, the producers. Shooting in Miami is a lot of fun. And the stories that we do every week are great, so I kinda enjoy it on the whole.

Fanny: Were you offered the role for you new project or did you audition?

Kristy Swanson: I auditioned for the role.

Ellen: Are you at all like the character you play on "Grapevine"?

Kristy Swanson: I would have to say not totally, but in some ways, yes. The character I play as Susan is a meddler. She believes she has a gift of setting people up. And I did have an experience like that about two years ago where I hooked up my agent and my make-up artist!

Betty: What one thing about Susan is going to surprise us in the future?

Kristy Swanson: Hard to say. Every week, there's something that happens in Susan's world and it's constantly changing and things are always happening. I would have to say it's kind of a weekly thing. It's not really something that happens in the end. Every episode there's always something.

CO-leezard: How many episodes have you shot?

Kristy Swanson: We've shot six total.

EZGuest362: Kristy, since your show is in Miami are there any Latinos in your show, and can you salsa, since Miami is one of the salsa capitals of the world?

Kristy Swanson: Yes, there are Latino actors in "Grapevine.” In the very first episode last week, there was salsa dancing. I got to learn how to salsa dance. It was a lot of fun!

Pepper38: In your opinion, what is the main appeal for "Grapevine"?

Kristy Swanson: I think "Grapevine" is appealing because it's set in Miami which is always a very fun and beautiful thing to see. Also, the characters on the show, I think, are very interesting. Very funny, very intriguing. I think the show's very sexy!

Fanny: I was recently in Miami Beach. What is your favorite spot?

Kristy Swanson: I like having dinner at the Astor and also Joe's Stone Crab! The Lowe's hotel is very nice as well. We shoot a lot there, actually. Because we're working so many hours, I haven't had a chance to see all of it.

Clickeee: How many hours a day do you work on the set?

Kristy Swanson: We average a 12 to 18 hour day. It's usually somewhere around 16 hours a day. Sometimes they throw us a bone, and give us 12.
