CosmoGIRL! presents Mark December 12, 2000 Have you ever wanted to delve into the mind of a teenaged boy? Well, here’s your chance! Read what CosmoGIRL!’s His Diary Guy, Mark, had to say about everything from love and rejection to school and surfing. CosmoGirl!: Welcome to our chat with our own His Diary Guy, Mark. This chat is sponsored by CosmoGIRL!--a magazine for REAL girls with REAL issues. Log on at www.cosmogirl.com Send your questions! Mark: I am happy for anyone that comes on. I hope I can answer your questions with some good advice. AmandaAu: Welcome, Mark! It’s great to have you here with us today. Can you tell us what exactly has been happening lately in your life and your latest diary events? Mark: Most recently I had a girlfriend and her name was Jen. Our relationship only lasted about two weeks. We found out we were two different people; we are going to try to keep our relationship as friends and stay as close as possible. Sternchen: In your story, you said that it's always the one person you want that you can't have. I know you were talking about you and your ex, Kristi, but what if there was a girl out there who feels that way about you? Do you think you'd treat her differently because you know what it feels like now? Mark: I think if I knew that she liked me as much as I liked a certain person I would try to be as nice as possible. I would never try to be mean to her. I would maybe go out with her a few times and see how it works out. Tina: What's your type? Mark: I don't try to have a certain type of girl. I try to look for girls that are quiet and soft spoken. I am not loud and obnoxious and I don't want someone like that. My last relationship -- she was loud and it didn't work out. I like a fun girl; she needs to know how to have fun. Not a boring girl. I like someone who likes to go out a lot. Niko: Have people treated you differently since you started writing for the magazine? Mark: Yes. A lot of people have treated me differently. My friends think it is great, especially the ones that get into the magazine. Some other people treat me different for other reasons, like jealousy, but it doesn't really effect me. I just kinda blow it off. It doesn't bother me that much, ‘cause that is just how some people are. Dolphins-Dream: Where do you think is a good place to meet girls? Mark: I think, myself, I like to go to clubs and dance a lot; it is a good place to meet girls. Anywhere is a good place to meet girls if you see a girl you like. Just approach her and start talking to her. Shania: Why do you think guys play mind games with girls? Do girls ever play mind games with you? Mark: I think guys might play mind games with girls if they think that girls are playing it with them. I have played mind games with girls cause they have done it with me. I think guys do it as a way to get back at them. Xmastree: It seems like a lot of your friends are girls. Why is that? Mark: A lot of my friends are girls because I like to be around them a lot more. Girls listen a lot better then guys. I do hang around with the guys, but it seems that girls listen better. It is good to have a lot of people to talk to. Lilelf: So, what happened with you and Royale? Mark: That will probably be answered in the January issue. We kinda just like drifted apart, although we still talk every day. We didn't really click in the beginning. She started to see one of my friends, so it was kinda hard, it was kinda behind my back. We still hang out a lot. Flintstone: How do you like girls to dress? Mark: I think girls should dress conservatively, and I do like girls who dress sexy too; I think it depends on where you are going as to what is appropriate attire. CTpie: Will you and Kristi go to school at the same place to be close to each other? Mark: No actually we are going pretty far apart. I don't know where she is going yet. I am moving to California next year and she will be in New Jersey, so we will be pretty far apart. Dolphins-Dream: How'd you convince your parents to let you apply to colleges that are so far away from home? Mark: I think maybe because they trust me a lot. They know I will be good and do well in school. I have a lot of family and friends there. I have always wanted to live in California.
