CosmoGIRL! presents Music Editor Michelle Lee June 17, 2000 Michelle Lee, CosmoGIRL!'s Music Editor, has had the opportunity to mingle with some of the top names in music. Find out who the nicest singer is, who is the funniest, and why her jaw dropped when Enrique Iglesias told her about his wife! CosmoGIRL: Welcome to our chat with CosmoGIRL! Music Editor Michelle Lee This chat is sponsored by CosmoGIRL! --a magazine for REAL girls with REAL issues. Log on at www.cosmogirl.com! Welcome! Michelle Lee: Hi everybody. Thanks for joining me at my music chat! Feel free to ask me anything. Dale: How did you become a music editor for CosmoGIRL!? Michelle Lee: That's a funny question, I sort of fell into it. I have always loved music, but I started out in my magazine career doing a lot of different things. I started out as a health editor, and was doing a lot of health and nutrition articles, and then when I got hired at CosmoGIRL! they asked me what I really wanted to do, and I've always had a very strong interest in music, in concerts and musicians, so they put me on music, and I absolutely love it. It's been a big learning process for me, as far as learning all about the industry, but it's been great. Cutiepie: Do you get to go to a lot of concerts? That's a job I would LOVE! Michelle Lee: I do! I do! I get to go to a lot of big concerts, but I also go to a lot of smaller shows too, which is fun, a lot of up and coming bands, which are really great to see, because you see them when they are smaller, and then when they get bigger, it's sort of exciting to see how someone you saw so long ago has become so successful. WhatdoUexpect: Michelle, isn't there some type of big concert coming up in Walt Disney World? Who is going to be there? Michelle Lee: I know that they had Grad Night there. It's funny, because I actually grew up in Florida, and went to high school there, and know that everyone who goes to high school in Florida gets to go to Grad Night. I know that this year Destiny's Child and Jessica Simpson were there along with a lot of other bands. Jacqueline: Out of all the singers you have met, which was the nicest? Craziest? Quietest? Funniest? Michelle Lee: I would say the nicest would be Pink. I absolutely loved her. She was a total, total sweetheart. She comes across, I think, in her video as sort of a tough girl, but she is such a role model, and I spoke to her twice, and she is very inspiring, and a very sweet girl. The craziest, I would have to say, would be N'Sync. I met with them when we did our cover story with them. We met with the guys in a restaurant in New York City, and they were so much fun! They totally play off each other, and joke around all the time, we were laughing, seriously, the entire time. I would say that the quietest person, I actually didn't meet her, but we did an article on her, it was Mya. We had our entertainment writer interview her, and she's very soft-spoken, she's a strong girl, but can be very soft-spoken at times. I also just met with M2M yesterday, they came into our office, and they are very, very sweet, but they are also soft-spoken. Funniest I would have to go back to N'Sync again, they are just really hilarious guys. That and also I would say Enrique Iglesias. He is funny in a different way, he has a very sarcastic sense of humor, he will joke around--I remember he told me this one thing, in the middle of our conversation, he said "my wife" and at the time I was like "he's not married!" and he just kept going with this whole joke, something about his wife, and I was totally confused, and after about a minute he said "I'm joking! I'm not married!"
