HBO presents Ginger and Jordan August 08, 2000 TonyT: What is your relationship like with other dancers? Ginger: It's very positive. It's important to maintain a good professional relationship with other dancers, so you don't foster jealousy, and to keep competition to a minimum. Jordan: I have to go with what Ginger says right now. Zephinia: What do you think about when you are dancing? Ginger: I think about whom I'm going to 'kill' next, which is who am I going to do business with next. I think about money, and I think about business. I look to the audience and see who's going to be the next customer. I line up my prey. Jordan: I think about--if it was me that was getting the dance, what would I like? So I give them what they want, and I hope they respond from it. It's just a regular job, and it's just the way you take it. Just do your job and hope that everybody you've done business with is happy-that everybody that signed a contract with you will come back to do more business with you later on. Griswold: Where did you learn to move like that? Ginger: Well, we both have Latin blood, and so moving comes easy to us. Jordan: Basically, just let yourself go. Close your eyes and make love to yourself on stage without literally touching yourself, and your body will automatically move with the rhythm. Hollis: What was it like the first time you come out on stage? Ginger: It was very natural, and I knew it was a job I could do. Jordan: I was stiff, nervous, didn't have any rhythm, and didn't move at all, basically. It took me about two weeks to actually get the hang of it, or to actually have the courage to go up to someone and ask them for a dance. Becky: How do you think your life will be effected with the airing of this HBO special? Ginger: It's been a great 15 minutes of fame, and I am assuming that that is where it will end. But one can only hope that the Hollywood offers come rolling in! Jordan: I hope that it will change for the better, and I hope that it will give you a little bit more to work with than just dancing on stage. It will give you opportunities to do a little bit more with your beauty, and like she said, that the offers will come. Anna: What sort of education have you each had? Ginger: I have a Bachelor's degree from a University. I have worked in the corporate world, and I have chosen dancing as a temporary profession. Jordan: Basically, I couldn't finish high school. My mother took me out of high school, so I had to do something to make myself better in life. So you don't have to be in college to be successful, and be somebody. Silly: What was the most fun you had in doing the HBO special? Ginger: Certainly, having professional lighting, hair, and makeup was exciting. And working with the HBO staff--they certainly gave us the gift of glamour.
