Kyres: With the rise in HIV cases around the world, don't you feel that Sex and the City promotes irresponsible sexual relationships that could lead to even higher numbers of HIV?

Dr. Perelman: I think that's a very good question. While I don't think a program like this is likely to significantly impact worldwide cases of HIV, I do think its very success would allow the writers to use it as a pulpit to encourage safer sex and responsible behavior while still maintaining comedic and provocative elements. Indeed, a recent show where Samantha went to be tested and was forced to face the frequency and wide disparity of her sexual behavior was an interesting attempt in that direction. I would agree that more could be done, and better. And I look forward to seeing such a perspective integrated into this program and the media at large. Thank you, once again, for joining us and have a terrific week.

HBO: Well, tonight's session is over. Thanks for participating and be sure to join us next Wednesday to discuss Sex and the City.
