NBCLive: Paul Reiser, an Emmy Award nominee every year since 1994 for his work as a producer and star on “Mad About You,” frequently found himself addressing the vagaries of modern marriage while touring as a stand-up comedian, a cathartic subject that took on new meaning for him seven years ago when he married Paula, a psychotherapist. Reiser co-created “Mad About You” (with Danny Jacobson) and also serves as executive producer. The comedy series allows him to express himself on the riddles of marital bliss. "Marriage is like the final frontier of intimacy," he says. "It's a dance with constantly changing ground rules, full of never-ending stories and issues. We want it to be honest, so that people will say, 'God, that's just like my life!' Shogun Says: You co-created “Mad About You”--what was your inspiration for creating the show?

Paul Reiser: A lovely first question. I was doing standup and the material that felt the best was the stuff about marriage and relationships.

Martins Says: I read that you co-wrote the theme song to “Mad About You,” are you still writing music?

Paul Reiser: I haven't been. But it's one of the things I'm looking forward to getting back to now that I have some time.

Friendliness Says: Hi Paul, I love your show how did you start your acting career?

Paul Reiser: The first stuff was just silly comedies and musicals in college. and then from there things sort of happened.
