Dave: How did you guys get Mike's weight under control? What is his current weight?

Jay Bright: His current weight, as of the weigh-in for the fight yesterday, was 223 pounds. He emerged from prison at the weight of approximately 280 pounds because most of the food that was consumed by him in prison was basically high starch, high fat, institutional food, and as a result of that, he gained quite a bit of weight. The way he lost the weight was exercise all along the way and also eating a healthy diet that was low in carbohydrates. Basically what he ate was chicken, fish, beef, all lean, and leafy green vegetables. He eliminated a lot of the starch--the pasta, corn and potatoes. All of the things that your body would store as fat. So he was basically on a low carbohydrate, high protein diet. When he wanted a snack, he would drink a protein drink.

Willium: Is Mike mentally stronger now because of his time out of the ring?

Jay Bright: Mike's time outside the ring has affected primarily his reflexes just as it affects any athlete who has been absent from his sport for an extended period of time. But mentally, Mike still retains a deep desire, dedication, as well as enthusiasm for a sport that he sincerely loves.

Izzy: Have you worked on Mike to keep him moving forward in the ring and not back-peddling?

Jay Bright: Mike's nature is to be an aggressive fighter and over the course of years, every fighter develops certain habits that need to be corrected. What Mike is doing presently is perfecting being an aggressive while well-balanced and elusive fighter.

Poltis: What did you and Mike learn, if anything, from the Botha fight?

Jay Bright: We learned primarily that he needed to work and practice the style that he has. Boxing is something that you learn and perfect through constant drilling and repetition, so that what you want to do in the ring on fight night becomes automatic and you are able to do it without hesitation or reservation.

The Rock: What is Tyson's game plan in this fight? Is he striving for a signature early knockout?

Jay Bright: If the knock out comes early, that would be great, but Mike has to be mentally and physically prepared as if Orlin Norris were the best fighter he had ever faced in his entire life and to give 100 percent of what he presently has to the entire distance of the fight.
