macys.com presents Angela Via and Nicole Kenneally August 17, 2000 Mimi: What are your other dreams you want to see come true now that you made this one real? Angela: I think one is just to have a video on TRL. And another is to just be able to have more people recognize who I am, and my music, but I have so many dreams. I think it's good to set new goals for yourself with something that you do. MissIssabella: I love your wardrobe! Do you pick your own clothes out, or do you have someone to help you. Angela: Okay. I have met with a stylist before for a few different things. Usually what ends up happening is I get with my mom and show her all the clothes, and we pick out outfits together, or we'll go shopping together when I come home. My mom has always had a really good sense of style, so it's a good mother-daughter bonding experience when we go shopping. Foxy: Angela, how do you stay so fit while on the road? Angela: I think what happens to artists when they're on the road is that they get so busy, they hardly have time to eat. And honestly, at some of the venues, some of the catering isn't all that great. So it's just that we end up eating less than normal. And also, performing can be such a good workout, because it gets the adrenaline going and the heart pumping faster. So that really did it, too. My mom says she's going to fatten me up while I'm home with all her home cooking. I said, "No way!" Lovemacysgirl: Angela, who is your favorite male musician? Who do think is the hottest out there in music right now? Angela: I have a few favorites! One is Brian McKnight. Another is Joe, and then I would have to say good ol' Stevie Wonder! One of the guys from LFO--but I can't say which one--I got to know them all! I made good friends with Devin; we got to sing a song together. Teenybabe: Nicole, what was your favorite Seventeen issue, and why? Nicole: Well! I can't narrow it down to just one, but my favorite is always the August issue, because it's always back-to-school, and it's always chock-full of the best fashion ideas. Angela: I'm always going to the store and grabbing the magazine before I go back-to-school shopping! Lovemacysgirl: Angela and Nicole, who are your favorite clothing designers? Angela: I haven't actually had the chance to choose one! For me, the way I shop, I just go to different stores, and if I see something that looks like me, I get it. I try it on, and I get it. But as far as stores go, I love Guess?, Macy's, the Gap, and bebe--it's a real favorite. Nicole: My favorite fashion designers are: Steve Madden, The Gap, Abercrombie, and my favorite new store, H & M! Not everybody has that one yet. Angela: I like Steve Madden! I think he's really awesome. I have to check out all that stuff. I've been too busy on the road. I can't wait to go shopping! Mimi: What direction would you like to see your music go to next? Angela: I would like to see my next single get on a lot of radio stations and get good airplay. And I'm hoping that people will respond to my song when they hear it, because it's one that I really love. It's called, "I Don't Care." I love the music; it's got some really, really good edge attitude to it. The story is actually about being a rebellious teenager, and your friends and people close to you are telling you that you shouldn't be with somebody you care about. And I was actually going through the story when I first heard the song. It's the one song on the album I didn't write. But because I was going through the story, I was feeling it, and I decided to record it and have it as one of my songs.
