In the ever-evolving world of online communications, new words and phrases are frequently created. If you’re going to thrive as part of this world, then you need to understand the language. The purpose of this article is to provide you with better insight on some terminology of social media and give you the knowledge you need to be successful.
Just twenty years ago the words “social” and “media” were wholly independent of each other, and putting them together would have been about the same as putting together the words “broadcast” and “friend.” They were just words that did not belong together. Today the term “social media” is as recognizable as the term “television commercial.”
